I love a small town feeling. You can find that feeling in Winter Park, Florida. It is a perfect get away. The main street provides lots of shopping and great restaurants. And, there is a beautiful Inn in town.
The Alfond Inn provides excellent accommodations in Winter Park. It may be described as Casual Elegance, yet I would describe The Alfond Inn as Contemporary Elegance. I loved the architecture and decor which was clean and relaxing. The temperatures outside were chilly so it was a short but brisk walk to the Main Street.
Once on Park Avenue, the main street in Winter Park, I looked up and down the street. I was ready to shop. Grayson headed to the local cigar shop and we agreed to meet for lunch.
I entered Louise James Boutique and was greeted by the owner. I loved the owner and her taste! The ladies dress shop carries Handmade European Fashion. I looked at every piece of clothing like artwork. The fabrics were completely unique. I purchased a blue & white jumpsuit and wished for much more.
Haven Uncommon Goods was the next stop on my Park Avenue walking tour. Haven is fun for all your senses. Apparel, Home Decor and One-of-a-Kind Items. I love to enter a store turning this way and that and in every corner I see something unique. I purchased gifts for friends, and ME. Check out their website!
Off to lunch, we hit it Big for our lunch spot Briarpatch Restaurant. Briarpatch is cute from the outdoor seating to the light and airy feeling inside. The desserts are on display to remind you to leave room after your feast. The food is excellent. I had the Eggs Benedict and Grayson had a burger, surprise! Every bite was delicious. Grayson chose the Red Velvet Cake and made every attempt to finish his cake.
Back to The Alfond Inn with bags in hand. One over night stay and we headed home. Next time it will be a two night stay, at the very least, and more food, glorious food!
