On my visit to Berlin, Maryland, I found the most charming bookstore called The Greyhound.  It is a self-described indie bookstore, but I would add…with a classical decor. The hunter-green walls with crisp white trim give the shop warmth and charm. The furniture placement made for the feel of a home.  

I walked in on a busy Saturday, and even with many people looking at the neatly displayed books on the shelves, I was immediately greeted.  The owner, Susan, was smiling as she told me to enjoy the shop and let her know if I needed help.  I noticed that each room displayed an excellent selection of fine art. 

After I chose a book, I walked up to Susan and asked about the art.  She explained the full name of the shop is The Greyhound Indie Bookstore and Fine Art Gallery.  Art and books not only work together, but they also complement each other.  This is especially true in Susan’s bookstore because the word indie represents an independent bookstore that carries self-published authors.  

These authors and artists are lucky to have an owner who cares about the importance of their works.  When visiting Berlin stop at The Greyhound Indie Bookstore and Fine Art Gallery; you will love it.
