I made a quick trip to Westport, Ct. just recently.  I needed to find a room at a hotel or inn.  I asked a friend for suggestions and I chose The Inn at Longshore from her list.  When I inquired about the location I was told it was in Saugatuck, Ct.  I grew up in Fairfield, Ct. and remember the name Saugatuck but thought it was a town next to Westport.  

I was not correct, it is a neighborhood in the town of Westport located on the Saugatuck River.  It was truly a picturesque property perfect for weddings because of the water view.  I was there for an overnight and there was a wedding outside on the lawn.  The room for the reception was also lovely with the same view of the water. 

Before I retired to the room at the Inn, I enjoyed a special dessert out on the patio at their restaurant La Plage.  I have never heard of fluffy cheesecake with strawberry and rhubarb.  It was so light and so delicious. Served in a small mason jar, the fluffy cheesecake was comparable to a mousse and topped with a lightly sweet layer of fruit.

The Inn at Longshore is a spot I would like to return to for the view, the dessert, and excellent staff.  What hotel or Inn have you stayed at that had the most beautiful view? Send me a message.
