I am always excited about the New Year. Our tradition is to celebrate the New Year with hopes of positive changes. My New Year’s resolution is the typical improved health by exercising or, to put it more concisely, losing weight. Laugh Out Loud, and I needed to spell this out because it makes me laugh too.
Mental Health is just as important as physical health. We have heard this many times, but implementing changes can be tricky. For example, my doctor recently informed me that I am borderline diabetic. I have read, over the years, that exercise is essential to reduce one’s risk of diabetes. Oh yes, and I need to cut out sugar; help! I’m a sugarholic.
I decided to join Club Pilates in our town. What a difference it has made. I not only improved my physical health but also helped my constant struggle with depression and anxiety, my mental health. As I said above, mental health and physical health are equally important. I believe they are so interconnected. I have taken five classes a week for three weeks.
I am determined to continue with three to five classes a week. I have cut back on sugar and carbs, but I know I need to do better. I gave myself the excuse that I would be more dedicated once the holidays were over. What about you? What are you struggling with right now?
