Summer is in full swing, and this is the perfect chance to bring the little black dress out of the closet. The LBD may be one of your hidden gems, so dress it up. Add color with accessories that shock and awe for a “summer-ized” pop!

My favorite LBD (featured above) is the Winslow light linen scoop neck short sleeve high-low waistless mini dress, made by Bryn Walker and purchased at Dillards. Bryn Walker knows how to make a linen dress figure flattering! It is lightweight and moves as you walk, keeping you comfortable.   

I featured this dress under fashion a few weeks ago with no accessories. Now take a look at a few additions to the basic black. Accessorizing brings out the best of a summer dress. When shopping for accessories, having a plan of what to look for and pair with your dress helps make a shopping trip successful. The employees at your chosen store are there to help as well, so don’t hesitate to take advantage of that resource! I wanted orange to be the pop of color to add to the basic black. I headed to The Shoe Attic and asked the owner, Brittany, about summer colors. I got lucky with orange slide-on summer sandals and orange & gold earrings. 

I also wanted bracelets and a bag that had color but weren’t solid orange, too matchy, matchy!

I also knew I had two beautiful scarfs, both by Vero, which I purchased at Binn’s of Williamsburg. The colors were so fun and bright to make the LBD stand out!
