French desserts are simple yet decadent.  When you walk into La Madeleine, the dessert case is delightfully displayed…and I’m most drawn to the tarts.  

In the picture you’ll see the two tarts I paired together…a fruit tart and a chocolate tart.  I order the mini-sized desserts as a way of deluding myself into thinking I’m doing the right thing for my waistline.

The crusts are never crumbly, so I rarely have to sacrifice even the tiniest bit with each bite.  The smooth cream and fruit are a wonderful combination…and the chocolate is dense and takes its time melting in my mouth.

For those of you who live near a La Madeleine, I’m so jealous!
