Do you think I should bring a hostess gift? Yes, it is smart to bring a small gift as a “thank you”.  I know the standard bottle of wine should be fine, but what about other suggestions?  

It is always easy for me to find hostess gifts.  I keep a couple in the top drawer of my tall chest in my kitchen. I am ready when I am invited to dinner to make a choice.  You must always be on the lookout for small items in gift stores, flower shops or really anywhere you frequently shop…even the grocery store.  

So, what are these small items?  There is the standard pack of cocktail napkins, candles, wine cork, or note pad.  I have stopped into the local bookstore and picked up the latest funny little book and at the same time remembered gift bags and tags too. Dish towels with clever sayings, wine sacks for when the hostess is invited to your house, you ready do want wine.  And, now with all the craft made bourbons…you never know you might get a bottle of bourbon as a house warming gift.
