Grayson, my son, and I have made it our passion to seek out small towns in Virginia. We will branch out to other states, but since this is our home state, why not start here? How do I choose what town is next? I don’t have to do research. The small towns are social media savvy, especially this time of year, and the advertisements for small-town activities are ample.
This venture has been on my list, Fredericksburg, Virginia. Fredericksburg is rich in history, and the historic downtown has an exciting vibe. Old buildings have been renovated with a mix of great shops and restaurants. The town has managed to attract gourmet chefs whom each have their specialties. Please peek at my Food Blog to read about our lunch spot.
My son and I had to stay for dinner to try one more restaurant. My excuse was that we didn’t want to be in five o’clock traffic.
We dined at Orofino for authentic Italian pizza. I couldn’t wait to take a picture. I had to have my first slice. The best pizza I ever had was in Italy and that day at Orofino’s restaurant. I had the margarita pizza. The tomato sauce, the crust, and the cheese go and try the incredible pizza.
I included as much as possible this week featuring Fredericksburg, Virginia. But there is more to discover, and I know we will have just as much fun on our next visit.
