I now better understand Dorothy Draper’s very distinctive style after my stay at The Greenbrier, America’s Resort. Ms. Draper’s design brilliance is on full display in the hotel. I knew of her iconic style, but seeing it for yourself is another experience.
Ms. Draper started the first interior design firm in the country in 1925, a huge achievement for a woman at this point in history. And she certainly did make history: Dorothy Draper became the most influential American interior decorator of the past century. Her unique use of bold colors, florals, and black and white check patterns can stand alone or combine to make rooms a work of art!
