I am traveling from Richmond, Virginia, to Portland, Maine. I arrived at the Richmond International Airport and immediately found fault. The terminal needs a Starbucks near American Airlines gates. Why? Because the coffee shop in the terminal was below the level of lackluster! It sucked.

One guy behind the register smiled when he said, “The machine was broken that makes cappuccino.” You do not smile when you throw lousy news out to coffee-drinking travelers. Loud noises came from the line behind me; no one was happy.” As the line of customers grew, I quickly ordered an iced tea that tasted like a bandaid.

Leaning on the counter was a female co-worker looking at her cell phone the whole time. No one in line could bore holes in her with their eyes to make her aware we were there. She’s probably up for a promotion, seems likely.
