I am so in-like with Williamsburg, especially Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. I have never been happier moving to a new location. Colonial Williamsburg is a walking town. The main street is Duke of Gloucester Street. It is lined with Colonial Homes and Shops and closed to “motorized vehicles”.
It is so nice to stroll down a street without worrying about traffic. The side streets are my favorite, they are tree lined and give you a respite from the sun. And, the side streets are where most of the animals reside. The sound of the animals makes my heart feel better. Why? Because instead of listening to the sound of car engines, I get to listen to the sounds of nature.
Image living in a small city where you can take a quiet walk and pet a horse. I am not a horse whisperer but I love to talk to them. My son makes fun of me but I know he does the same. My favorite sound is the “bleat” of a baby lamb. The bleat is heard all morning long as the new lamb follows by its mother’s side… so sweet and comforting.
Did I mention the bees and the birds and the oxen and the blooming flowers?
I know you will love a visit to walk among (amidst) history and nature. The spring weather is delightful. Hope to see you soon.
