I have a decorating style all of my own and so does my fabulous friend, the owner of Elle Daniel shades, Linda Daniel.

I am conservative.  Linda is  creative and clever and makes lampshades that are the same.  I met Linda Daniel, when I first moved to Sarasota in August of 2017.  I moved into the Laurel Park neighborhood.  I couldn’t believe my luck.  Not only was there a huge resale shop behind my house called the Women’s Exchange, I spotted an adorable shop across the street.

The shop was an all glass porch decorated with custom made lampshades.  I stopped in my tracks and stood and stared.  Every lampshade had a different shape and they were covered with beautiful fabrics.  I had two lamps I had bought from T.J.Maxx, for my son’s room.  The bases were round with blue and white stripes, so sharp!  The shades were a dull off-white, so boring!  I ran across the street to meet the lamp shade lady.  Who could she be?  OMGoodness, Linda was a delight.  She has a great personality and her fabric selection was incredible.  I told her about my lamp bases and she pulled out 5 fabrics that perfectly coordinated with my bases.  My son’s room went from drab to fabulous.  I was renting at the time, the lampshades could easily move with us, when it was time.

The lampshades gave the room a complete look, a pop of color.  Linda’s work is custom and very time consuming.  This level of talent and creativity brings a designer look to any room.  I love to look in at the Women’s Exchange and find an old lamp base.  The shades are usually not included, or included and yellowed in color, with an old musty smell.  Linda can match the old base with different sized frames.  You pick the fabric or Linda can help you choose the look that will give the lamp pizzazz. Check out her website, www.elledaniel.com or on Instagram at @elledanielinc.

Send me a picture of your tired lamp with or without a shade to speak of, lol. The ugliest lamp will win a gift certificate to use towards the purchase of a new lampshade with Linda!
