What will be the most googled word(s) in 2020? I’m not a news reporter or a research analyst. I’m just curious. And, being curious, I love the access to information on Google.
So, first I checked to see what others were curious about in 2019. Last year, “Baby Yoda” and “Disney Plus” were the hot search phrases. Yep…Baby Yoda is a small character who created a lot of interest and became the most searched term on Google in the United States for 2019. And Disney Plus is an on-demand, ad-free streaming service created by The Walt Disney Company. There’s a growing market for streaming services these days. Sadly, Disney announced large layoffs of its theme park employees…one of the major downsides of 2020.
Now…about 2020. What are our fellow Americans googling? Well, there are a number of things, but topping the list are: “toilet paper,” “paper towels,” “bottled water,” and “coffee.” I was expecting “COVID-19” to be the winner…but I’m also not surprised by the above search words! What were you expecting? I want to know. What was the last thing you googled?
