The Shore Restaurant in Sarasota has two locations that are divine. The food is excellent. I used to go all the time, at least once a week, before the pandemic. When I dined at the Shore on St. Armands Circle, I would arrive before 6:00 and ask for the “early bird” menu. It was a small menu that included just a few appetizers and entries. Since they have reopened, their menu has only slightly changed. But, there is no small menu with lower priced items.
All restaurants have had to make significant changes to their seating, Shore has done a great job. All restaurants have had to reduce their staff, Shore is no exception. The one thing that Shore has not changed is the quality of their gourmet food. My favorite is the FAROE ISLANDS SALMON. The Salmon has a pepper crust with mashed fingerling potatoes and grilled vegetables. The dish is finished with pomegranate reduction and a lemon beurre blanc. I have never tasted a better salmon dish. I ask for it “cooked through” or “well-done”. It is cooked to perfection and moist. The vegetables are delicious and have a grilled flavor that does not mask the individual vegetable. The potatoes are tasty too. It is the two sauces that compliment the dish so well, as they blend on the plate, every bite you take will be enhanced!
Now back to the pre-pandemic little menu with little prices. I miss it. The portions were smaller but for me they were the perfect size. I used to order the FAROE ISLANDS SALMON for $16.00. The full portion was always $26.00. I am on a budget now. Since I need to be careful like most people, I was smart. When a friend asked where I would like to have dinner for my birthday, I suggested Shore. My friend Peggy treated me to the FAROE ISLANDS SALMON. I was in heaven. I will be back Shore over and over, hopefully sooner than later.
