WOMEN CONNECT! – Sharing Stories, Building Strength

The Delaware Bankers Association and the Delaware Financial Education Alliance hosted WOMEN CONNECT! at the beautiful Delaware Center for Horticulture. The morning was a vibrant opportunity to Engage, Empower, and Network.

I was honored when my friend Caroline Dickerson invited me to join her in sharing our caregiving journeys. Together, we opened up about the challenges and realities of supporting aging family members — experiences that resonate with many.

Through an honest and heartfelt conversation, we explored caregiving’s emotional and practical sides — from the overwhelming responsibilities to the importance of maintaining one’s own well-being. Our goal was to offer insights, encouragement, and most of all, support.

We emphasized a powerful truth: no one’s personality is naturally suited for the transformation from health to illness — it’s a learning process for all. And just as vital as caregiving is self-care, which must never be overlooked.

It was a fantastic experience, filled with connection, inspiration, and shared strength. We’re grateful for the chance to contribute and hope our message helps others feel seen, heard, and supported.
