What a find I have found, a bistro with an Executive Chef extraordinaire. The talented Ashleigh Fleming has given the town of Littleton, NC, a restaurant to be proud of and bragging rights.
As I drove down the main street, I couldn’t help but notice a newly renovated section of storefronts. Then I realized part of the new section was Blue Jay Bistro. The handsome woodwork outside frames the windows and leads you to the large wooden front door. The door leads to a beautifully lit hallway. You still have no idea what you are about to step into, a gorgeous upscale bistro.
How can the restaurant be reserved entirely in a small town of under 700 residents, with no table available? Well, I now know why…the atmosphere, the cuisine, and the word is quickly spreading. I had to experience Blue Jay Bistro. My friend and I returned late evening to sit at the bar. We ordered cappuccino and desserts. Our bartenders were Ryan and Meg, who made us feel welcome guests. We selected our desserts because Ryan said they were his favorite.
I had ONE POTATO, TWO POTATO…SWEETPOTATO Sweetpotato Creme Brûlée, spiced pound cake, brown butter glaze, butter rum marshmallow, chantilly cream. My friend was delighted with the MARSCAPOINE CHEESECAKE, toasted latte meringue, espresso ganache, almond and coffee crumble. There are no words in the English language to describe these desserts. I can only say, Thank you, Ryan…you were right. The best desserts ever!
Make Blue Jays your fine dining destination with reservations. I will return for dinner with reservations.
