There is a restaurant in Fredericksburg, Virginia, that is mouthwatering, the food that is, and it is called FOODE. Every time my son and I go to visit a town, we split up and start asking where we should have lunch. I asked the local shop owners where they dine. It was unanimous, “Oh, you must go to Foode.”
First, we needed to find Foodie; the restaurant is on Princess Anne Street, just one street from Caroline Street, Fredericksburg’s main street. I think you will spot it quickly; it was a bank. What a lovely surprise, the interior was light and bright and filled with delighted diners. I wanted to sit in the front room, but Grayson noticed seating in the vault. We sat in the vault, and Grayson was right; it was a great experience.
Our waitress was so sweet, and her recommendations were spot-on. This is the mouthwatering part. I had short ribs and sweet potatoes. I have never had better! Grayson had a chicken sandwich that was moist on the inside, crispy, and spicy on the outside. We kept whispering…is this the best? This is the best. It was incredible.
You must go to their website to appreciate the love and devotion the chef and staff have given to the food at Foode. Did I mention the dessert? We had the SPICED APPLES Cinnamon Swirl Poundcake with Cheesecake Mousse. Devine, though, we had to share it, and that was our only mistake. Next time we will each have our own dessert, and there will be a next time at Foode.
