The Northern Neck of Virginia has much to offer. In the town of Irvington, we saw a small blue house surrounded by a white picket fence. Cute right? Then we saw a fork, knife, and spoon sculpture in the front yard. The little blue house is the restaurant called The Office Bistro.
What a fantastic surprise awaited us inside. The decor is upscale and contemporary, and the food is superb. I was thrilled with the atmosphere because I have been spoiled after living in Portland, Maine, and Sarasota, Florida, both foodie towns. The Office Bistro is well worth the drive to Irvington. I wish I lived down the street. I would wear out my welcome.
The menu is so intelligent, and so are the owners. Causal to fine dining, you have choices. My son had their Classic Cheese Pizzette, pizza with hand-stretched dough with California tomato sauce, Mozzarella, and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheeses.
I had the delightful and delicious Country Cobb Salad. The salad was topped with crispy chicken tenders, cucumber, tomato, roasted corn cornbread croutons, cheddar jack cheese, bacon, and pecans tossed in a honey dijon dressing.
What more could we ask for? We both were thrilled with our lunches. Oh, but you need to see the other choices, and they are incredible. I wanted to have their pork baby back ribs which the couple next to us indulged in, next time.
Get to Irvington, get to The Office. You can thank me later.
