On Friday, July 15, 2022, the small Virginia town of Tappahannock was engulfed in flames. This fire devastated the 200 blocks of Prince Street, the main historic site in Tappahanock, leaving this small town in great need of supplies and aid. Now, the town and its residents are left with the daunting task of recovery and restoration.
In an effort to assist with the rebuilding, the Tappahannock Main Street Association has established a relief fund for victims of the fire, Fire Recovery for Downtown Tappahannock. All proceeds of this fundraiser will go directly to the affected employees and businesses. Insurance will eventually assist with the cost of lost homes and businesses, but there is great need for immediate support.
The marketing and media company I partner with, Consociate Media, announced the fundraiser on their social media page. I want to help too. Linked here is the fundraiser directly, and throughout the rest of July and August 20% of proceeds from my shop will be donated to the Fire Recovery for Downtown Tappahannock relief fund. Donate directly, shop and donate, and stay up to date with the recovery efforts that will be featured in my stories.
