If you are looking for a stop on your way north or south along the Delmarva Peninsula, Berlin, Maryland will delight you. This small town has more than one claim to fame.
The Movie Runaway Bride was filmed in Berlin. Starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere, it sent the town and surrounding area buzzing with excitement. Hotel Atlantic was the site of filming and where Richard Gere’s character was staying while in town. You can stay in the room at Atlantic Hotel where Richard Gere was a guest. I know because the first question I asked at the front desk was, “Can you stay in the same room…?” LOL!
Tuck Everlasting was also filmed in Berlin; the movie was set in 1918. When you stand on the main street of Berlin, you can see how easily the town could appear to be from the early 1900s. I wouldn’t tell the production company I said that…it does take tons of work to transform any set.
The best part of Berlin in this century is the charming shops and excellent restaurants. Whether you’re looking for a delicious dinner or a stylish outfit, Berlin will definitely please you.
