Recently I took a quick drive to see Yo-Yo Ma at the Chrysler Hall in Norfolk, Va.  I had no inkling I would be seeing the cellist, until I got a notice the night before on my cell phone. I couldn’t resist a chance to see Yo-Yo Ma in person!  

It was an incredible afternoon.  He was accompanied by Kathryn Scott who choose the selection of music for the performance.  The experience of seeing and hearing Yo-Yo Ma’s music flowing with ease from the cello is mesmerizing.  

Fascinating to watch, the bow and stings draw you in with a calming affect.  I closed my eyes and with the high and low sounds of the music.  

I felt my body relax in my chair. 

For me, music calms the soul and relaxes the mind.  Thank you Yo-Yo Ma and Kathryn Scott for sharing your talent.
